Frederick Launch & Goals
Frederick’s CivicCon launched in September 2025 through Hood College, explicitly modeled on Pensacola’s program. The goal is to unite residents with outside and local experts to explore and solve Frederick’s civic challenges, fostering a collaborative civic culture – developing civic IQ.

Frederick is known for its vibrant community and rich history. Hood College acts as a vital partner in promoting civic dialogue. While local challenges are unique, Frederick’s strong civic foundation makes it an ideal place to adapt the CivicCon model.
Frederick First Year Highlights
Since September 2025, Frederick’s CivicCon has seen growing community interest. The programming expanded to include focused discussions such as “How Maryland Creates Lovable Places in Frederick and Beyond,” bringing together planners, leaders, and residents for meaningful collaboration.
